The proposed conservatory by reason of its size, design and prominent front elevation positioning is considered to have an adverse impact upon the character and appearance of both Field House and the general street scene of Newholm. As such the proposal is contrary to policies GP3 and H8 of the North York Moors Local Plan which state that extensions should respect or enhance the character and appearance of the host building as well as the distinctiveness of the local and wider landscape.
