The local planning authority considers this open site set within domestic curtilage, albeit in a broadly forested area, is not suitable for the development of 3 holiday chalets due to the restricted size of the site, which would result in a cramped, over developed appearance to the development, and due to the open unwooded nature of this site which is clearly visible from adjacent Public Rights of Way. As such the development would result in harm to the character and appearance of this part of the National Park contrary to policies TM4 and GP3 both of which aim to resist new development which has an unacceptable impact on the character and special qualities of the National Park.
