This proposal by virtue of the siting of 8 caravans in an existing open undeveloped area would result in an extension of development into open countryside to the serious detriment of the character and landscape quality of this part of the North York Moors National Park, contrary to the provisions of Policies TM4, TM5 and GP3 of the North York Moors Local Plan which seek to restrict new caravans development to well screened woodland settings and to permit alterations and extensions to existing caravan sites only where they will result in environmental benefits.
