The proposed alterations would have a detrimental impact on the Listed Buildings as the subdivision of the internal space and installation of rooflights would be considered to be inappropriate additions, which constitute overdevelopment of the site and undermines the character of the building. As such the proposals would be contrary to policy BE3 of the North York Moors Local Plan which seeks to ensure changes to listed buildings will only be permitted where there would be no unacceptable impact on the character, setting, appearance or fabric of the building.
