The proposed extensions, by reason of their height, scale, design and massing would be wholly out of character with the existing modest property and would result in an unduly obtrusive form of development harmful to the amenities of this part of the National Park on this prominent site. As such the proposals would be contrary to the provisions of Local Plan Policies H8 and BE6 which seek to ensure extensions do not detract from the character and appearance of the host building.
