In the opinion of the Local Planning Authority, the proposed development would, by reason of the domestic style of window proposed, detract from the historic agricultural character of this curtilage listed building and its historical functional relationship with the listed farmhouse. The proposal would therefore be contrary to Policies BE3 of the North York Moors Local Plan which states proposals for alterations to and changes of use of Listed Buildings will only be permitted where they have no unacceptable impact on the architectural character or appearance of the building and contrary to Policy BE14 which requres schemes for conversion of traditional buildings to be achieved without unacceptable impacts an the character of the building.
