The proposal involves the erection of a significant new extension to these existing buildings and as such the proposal does not relate to conversion of existing attractive traditional buildings to a dwelling and would be contrary to the provisions of Policy BE15 of the North York Moors Local Plan which seeks to conserve existing buildings which make a positive contribution to the landscape character of the National Park. In this case a scheme to conserve and re-use the existing buildings has been approved and this current proposal for a significant amount of new building would seriously harm the character of this group of buildings on the edge of the village and Conservation Area contrary to Policies BE1 and GP3 of the North York Moors Local Plan.
