By virtue of the obtrusive form, design, general appearance and prominent siting the proposed patiola would poorly relate to the strong symmetrical character of this Grade II Listed Building and its setting within Grosmont village. As such, the proposal would be contrary to the provisions of the Local Plan policies BE6 and BE3 of the North York Moors Local Plan which seek to ensure alterations and extensions are sympathetic to the character, appearance, fabric and setting of Listed Buildings.
