The proposed alterations would have a detrimental impact on this Listed Building as the installation of rooflights are considered to be inappropriate additions which undermines the character of the building. As such the proposals would be contrary to Policy BE3 of the North York Moors Local Plan which seeks to ensure changes to listed buildings will only be permitted where there would be no unacceptable impact on the character, setting, appearance or fabric of the building.
