The proposed insertion of a dormer window and roof lights together with the use of the garage roof as a roof terrace, would by reason of the detailed design and the siting in relation to neighbouring properties have an adverse impact on the character and appearance of the host property and result in the loss of amenity for neighbouring properties contrary to the saved Policies H8 and GP3 of the North York Moors Local Plan.
