The extension to the approved building is necessary only to facilitate the development of an intensive farming system which is unrelated to existing agricultural activity on the site and not ancillary to an existing farm holding. As such the erection of this building would lead to the introduction of an intensive form of agriculture and an unacceptable increase in activity on this small holding which would seriously harm the character and special qualities of this part of the National Park contrary to the provisions of saved Policies F6 and GP3 of the North York Moors Local Plan. Furthermore the development of an intensive farming system on this holding could lead to future requests for development to facilitate this farming enterprise and result in an increase in activity, plant and buildings that would further harm the character of this part of the National Park.
