The proposed development by reason of the design, texture and appearance of the UPVC materials together with the likely sash thickening in places would not respect the character and appearance of doors and fenestration within the Aislaby Conservation Area. As such the proposal would be contrary to Policy BE1 of the North York Moors Local Plan which seeks, amongst other things, to ensure design detailing and external materials are appropriate to the locality.
