The construction of the two storey corner infill plot would adversly affect the character and appearnce of this Grade 11 Listed barn conversion, the historic development of the farmstead would be hidden and the awkward junction of roof heights would adversly affect the character and appearance, as such the proposal is considered contrary to Policy BE3 of North York Moors Local Plan. The extension of the barn to provide additional accommodation does not retain the character of the buidling and is considered a significant extension and as such is contrary to saved Policy BE14.
