The proposal is contrary to saved Policy H10 of the North York Moors National Park Local Plan as it involves a new build unit of annexe accommodation detached from the main dwelling in a location where such development would have an urbanising impact on the character and appearance of the host dwelling and its setting and as such does not accord with saved Policy H10 which states annexe accommodation should be either an extension to an existing dwelling or the conversion of an existing outbuilding.
The development by virtue of its design and detailing would result in a new building of very domestic appearance out of character with the traditional dwellings and outbuildings in this open countryside location within the National Park. The development is therefore contrary to the provisions of Policy BE6 of the North York Moors Local Plan which requires that all new development is of a high standard of design which does not harm the character or appearance of the National Park.
