The Authority consider the enlargement of the southern most window in the east (front) elevation of Forge Cottage, Egton by virtue of its size, proportions and design detailing would not respect the existing design detailing and appearance of the building nor enhance or conserve the appearance and character of this part of the Egton Conservation Area where an Article 4 Direction is put in place to achieve a greater level of control over minor but cumulatively damaging alterations which can erode the special character of the area As such the development is considered contrary to Core Policy G and Development Policies 4 and 19 of the Core Strategy and Development Policies Document within the North York Moors Local Development Framework.
