The proposed development as a result of the increased number of static caravans and the failure to demonstrate the effectiveness of new planting would result in an obtrusive visual intrusion into this part of the National Park. The existing and proposed screening does not constitute established woodland or forest and as such the development is likely to cause harm to the Parks special qualities through visual intrusion. The proposal is therefore contrary to Development Policy 16 of the North York Moors Local Development Framework.
