If approved this application could encourage other similar applications for caravan holiday accommodation in the countryside which would, by reason of precedent, be more difficult to refuse so leading to a decline in the landscape character and visual amenity of the North York Moors National Park and therefore be contrary to Core Policy A of the NYM Local Development Framework.
The caravan is readily visible viewed from the south and by reason of its siting, angular form and jarring colour scheme is an intrusive and incongruous feature in the landscape. This is contrary to Development Policy 16 which states that caravan sites should be located within a well established area of woodland or forest. If approved, the development would harm the special qualities of this part of the National Park and therefore is contrary to Core Policy A of the North York Moors Local Development Framework.
