The Local Planning Authority considers that the installation of uPVC manufactured side hung casement windows, by reason of the incongruous material and the poor design detailing would be detrimental to the visual amenity of the property and this part of the Egton Conservation Area. As such the proposal is considered to be contrary to the provisions of Development Policies 3 and 4 of the NYM Local Development Framework which states that development will only be permitted where it preserves or enhances the character and appearance or setting of the area placing particular emphasis on the use of traditional design and materials.
