The proposed single storey extension, by reason of its scale, design and position is considered to be harmful to the modest, utilitarian and traditional character of the existing barn conversion. The proposal would fail to respect the existing architectural character of the converted rural building contrary to the requirements of Development Policies 3, 8 and 19 of the NYM Core Strategy and Development Policy Document together with the advice contained within Part 4 of the Authority's adopted Design Guide.
